Debate Competition Rules & Instructions 

1. Competition Structure: The competition involves three rounds: Prelims, Semi-Finals, and Finals. Here's a brief breakdown of how each round might work: 

· i.Prelims: 

a. This is the initial round where all participants compete. 

b. This round may involve a large number of competitors, with only the top 40% qualifying from the basic initial test.

· ii.Semi-Finals: 

a. The top participants from the preliminary round will advance to the semi-finals.

b. The goal of the semi-finals is to narrow down the pool of participants to the finalists. 

· iii.Finals: 

a. The final round includes the last remaining competitors who have earned their spots through the semi-finals. 

b. The winner is crowned in the finals, determined by their overall performance.

2. Student Categories & Team Composition:

· The student categories and the details of their respective prizes.


 

 Participation certificates for all registered participants.

3.Team Debate: Participants are required to engage in the debate as part of a team, where effective collaboration and teamwork are essential for success.

4. Time Limits: All participants must adhere to the time limits allocated for each speech; exceeding the time may lead to point deductions or the speaker being interrupted by the moderator.

5. Respectful Conduct

a. Interruptions during speeches are not allowed, except during designated segments such as cross-examination.

b. Personal attacks, disrespectful language, or inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to penalties or disqualification. 

6. Topic Adherence: All arguments and discussions must remain on topic. Off-topic points or irrelevant arguments will not be considered valid. 

7. Moderator Authority: The moderator has the authority to interrupt a speaker or deduct points if they exceed the time limit or violate any rules.

8. Violation of Rules: Violating any of the competition's rules or etiquette, including improper conduct or failure to follow time limits, may result in disqualification or point deductions. 

9. Decision: The decision made by the person in charge (the moderator or judge) is final, and participants must respect the ruling without attempting to challenge or argue it.

 All the Participant are requested to carry their Aadhaar/Student ID Card as an ID Proof
